Candidate, US Senate
Mark Robert Warner is an American businessman and politician and has served as United States senator from Virginia since 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Warner also served as the 69th governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006.
Beth Macy is a Virginia-based journalist who writes about outsiders and underdogs. Raised poor in a small Ohio community, she is the award-winning author of three New York Times bestselling books examining rural communities left behind by corporate greed and political indifference.
Ward 1 Candidate for City Council.
A Navy veteran, former university educator, and neighbor, Miles Davis is stepping up for Ward 1. Promising to be a leader who listens to the people and works tirelessly to resolve local issues concerning the constituents of Ward 1.
Over the past ten years, Miles has worked alongside community leaders, educators, small business owners, and local residents to address key challenges facing local, regional, and international communities. His initiatives have focused on: strengthening neighborhood safety, supporting small businesses, expanding educational opportunities, improving access to public services. These efforts have helped bring communities together and develop practical solutions to local challenges.
Ward 2 Winchester City Council
Jennifer McDonald is a dedicated public servant with over a decade of experience in local government and volunteerism focused on strengthening our community through service. From volunteering at city events to advocating for our schools, she’s committed to making Ward 2 a more vibrant and connected place to live. She’ll work to build a brighter, more prosperous community for every family in Winchester.
Ward 3 Candidate for City Council
Councilwomen Herbstritt is a local small business owner, operating Shady Knoll Mushroom Farm LLC. In addition, she has a long history of service with nonprofits in leadership and management roles. In November 2018, she was elected to the Common Council and was elected Council President in January 2023. Ms. Herbstritt holds a degree in psychology with honors from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego. She is a graduate of the Community Leadership Program at the Top of Virginia Region Chamber and completed the City's INSIGHT Citizen’s Academy. She was first elected to City Council in 2018.
